Dr. Ritesh Kalra, a primary care and internal medicine doctor based in Fair Lawn and Secaucus, New Jersey, has been federally charged with illicit drug distribution and patient coercion for sexual favors.
As part of his scheme, Kalra wrote prescriptions for highly addictive drugs, demanding sexual favors in return. He wrote more than 31,000 prescriptions to patients and even some employees for oxycodone and other controlled substances.
He practiced at St. Joseph University and St. Joseph Wayne medical centers in New Jersey, as well as operating his own private practice in Fair Lawn.
